Call On Him

Call On Him

It’s coming up on a year since Lou Kahlenbeck left us. Going through some old audio files today I ran across a really ragged, unfinished demo of a song he wrote that he, Rick Burkholder and I were working on many years ago. I tried to scavenge the vocals from it, but the quality just isn’t there and neither is the skill needed for me to do the scavenging. I wanted to share (with permission) this cover – Lou wrote some beautiful songs – this is one of his I’ve always loved.

Gone, but not even close to forgotten, Papki… See you soon…

Lyrics:

There’s a time in our lives

When we all must face that fear

Where do we go from here?

A stumbling block or a great stone wall

That you think you can’t go through

But you know what we must do

Call on Him, you know it can’t do harm

Call on Him, He’ll lift you up with a strong right arm

Call on Him, You know He’ll see you through

Call on Him

There’s a place in your heart Full of burdens you can’t bear They cause you not to care

The weight’s too great,

But it’s not too late to lift up that burdened heart

Should have done it from the start

Call on Him, you know it can’t do harm

Call on Him, He’ll lift you up with a strong right arm

Call on Him, You know He’ll see you through

Just take to heart these words of life

Which nothing can compare

You know He will be there Call on Him

There’s a time in our lives

When we all must face that fear

Where do we go from here?

A stumbling block or a great stone wall

that you think you can’t go through

Well, you know what we must do

Call on Him, you know it can’t do harm

Call on Him, He’ll lift you up with a strong right arm

Call on Him, You know He’ll see you through

Call on Him…
