a study in contrast
yellow autumn leaves waving
in the indian summer breeze
outside my office window.
I can see their reflection
against the blue Windows desktop
as I squint at the computer monitor.
yellow on blue
living on virtual
organic on digital
beauty for the joy of beauty
carefree and laughing
as if
waving through the window
teasing "come out and play!"
just for a moment I turn and
look
wistfully thinking
"I wish I could."
and sighing, turn back to work.
