a poem about writers' block
a tentative knock
not right now – i’m busy
you understand
i have to go here do this get that
maybe later, okay?
leaving in haste i don’t notice
as
i
go there do that get this
returning
a tentative where were we
not right now
maybe later
okay?

another poem about writers' block
just write,
she says
her words silken smooth
before my thirsty eyes
beneath the
dirt rests treasure
but you must first
move the dirt
so anxiously
I turn
and face again my empty page
and hear the mocking paper voice
so freely
from her pen
don't you think? why,
how hard can it be
(taunting) go ahead - just write.
